La Romántica Milonguera

Formed in 2016, they achieved viral success in 2017 thanks to two music videos of famous tangos, “Poema” and “Invierno,” which garnered their first millions of views on YouTube.

From there, their recognition grew not only locally but also internationally, leading them to perform in the United States, several countries in Europe and Asia, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Uruguay.

“La Romántica Milonguera was born from a chat with the idea of creating a novel in the style of ‘Rolando Rivas Taxista’ and adapting it for a typical Argentine orchestra, capturing the essence of a quintessential Argentine product.”
Over time, La Romántica has developed a unique aesthetic that, along with the exploration of its own sound and the audiovisual work of its music videos, reveals a younger community within the tango scene, more connected to digital technology. This allows us to imagine a dystopian vision of tango as a continuation of popular culture, rejecting snobbery, academicism, and partisan politics. It brings us closer to understanding tango as a more social phenomenon, one that resonates with current generations.

With 4 LPs and 6 EPs, the orchestra’s repertoire extends beyond tango: they have also performed their own versions of songs by the Beatles and even Sandro and Gilda.

This orchestra has the particularity of having all musicians from Argentina with a highly qualified career in Tango, living in Europe. You could say it’s the national Tango team.
Tango de Nácar is a new show born from the collaboration of five of the most outstanding musicians in today’s tango scene.
Far beyond a traditional quintet, this ensemble represents a convergence of legacies: decades of experience, personal styles, and musical philosophies woven together to create something deeply new. Like nacre, formed layer by layer over time, Tango de Nácar is a sonic reflection of tango’s history and its ongoing evolution.
Drawing inspiration from the great masters of all times — Pugliese, Piazzolla, Troilo, Gobbi, Salgán, among others — and reimagining their works through original arrangements, the group explores the boundaries of tango and lets them dissolve naturally into other contemporary musical languages.
The result is not a rupture, but a deepening: a dialogue between eras, styles, and identities.
Tango de Nácar is more than a project. It is a luminous offering: a tribute to the soul of tango, reimagined by those who carry it in their blood.
The ensemble recorded their debut album, “Retratos,” released in July 2024, featuring original arrangements that combine sophistication, emotion, and a bold musical vision.

His teachers included Aníbal Troilo, Roberto Goyeneche, Lucio Demare, Roberto Grela, and Astor Piazzolla.
